Event Calendar
For this poster, I was given the task to create an informative piece that gave dates for upcoming events. The challenge of this assignment was to then add an image that I would have to take my self and not find a stock image or create it in other software. I’ve chosen to do music events because I knew it would be the simplest and easiest approach to researching information and taking the photo. It took multiple comps and different sessions of photoshoots. The style I wanted to go for was structured. I knew I wanted to have just enough white space to let every element breath because of the handful of events.
Calligraphy Lyric Poster
For this assignment, I was given the challenge to create a poster of a song lyric of my choosing and handwrite the type. I chose the song Stronger, by Clean Bandit because they were my favorite band at the time and the lyrics are both beautiful and impactful. It took a couple of tries to find the style I liked. At first, I did a script font but later made a thin sans serif. The background was created by tossing paint onto a large piece of paper on top of garbage bags. The color was originally red and black but I later inverted the colors in Photoshop and gave it a more serial tone.
Renê Magritte Museum Poster
I was assigned to create a fake museum poster that featured artwork of René Magritte. I was given free creative control and created this puzzle like image with one of Magritte’s famous paintings, Son of Man.

This is a smaller version of the poster. It has the same elements but also has new information, mostly on the artist him self.
Type-Face: Myriad
This poster was one of the first Adobe Indesign pieces I had ever created. The task was to make a poster about a specific type-face. I will never repeat the mistake again for leaving errors in my work. Since this project, I always go over my work and have someone else double check it for me. Just to be safe.
Cruz Control
This was a fake movie poster I made for a friend that was a gift for his younger brother. His family really liked cars so he wanted me to incorporate cars into the poster along with specific colors and nicknames.
Type-Face Book
I had to create a book describing everything that is to know about the type-face “Gotham”. Instead of having my layout be a traditional book, I designed it to be in an accordion type of style. The information and history was in white and was on the front half of the book. The Font family and alphabet was on the back.
